Favorite Days

Today I must do two posts for it is one of my favorite unofficial holidays— National Tolkien Day! If I had been planning ahead we would have celebrated Bilbo's and Frodo's birthday with at least scones and honey and a second breakfast. As it is we are searching for a way to make pizza Middle-earthian.
So since I cannot honor him with provender, I quote here a stanza from one of his poems called Errantry which I have recently discovered and love for the beauty of the words and the complexity of the rhythm scheme:
He passed the archipelagoes
Where yellow grows the marigold,
Where countless silver fountains are,
And mountains are of fairy-gold.
He took to war and foraying,
A-harrying beyond the sea,
And roaming over Belmarie
And Thellamie and Fantasie.
