My great friend Lisa called me back this morning and asked me how I was. I told her. Instead of saying, "Oh, I'm sorry," and moving on to nicer topics, she said, 'I'm sorry, Jess. You know, I just did a devotional about this in Mexico." And then she proceeded to give me a word which has blessed me exceedingly, and which naturally follows what I wrote here last night, like sunshine after rain. The Lord's networking system strikes again, bless Him. So it is with cheerful plagiarism that I offer what Lisa offered me:
"Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors; for He gives to His beloved even in his sleep... For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
Ps. 127:1-2 + Eph. 2:10
